After the success of the last top scorers blog, I thought it would be a nice feature to have a monthly update on who's leading the way in each division, each step of the pyramid and also throughout steps one to six in it's entirety, which will also include goals in the three major FA competitions.
In August, there were a total of 9,868 goals scored in the top six steps of non league football, as well as the FA Cup and FA Vase, almost 10,000 in one month! 8,067 have been in the league, and out of all of those, let's see who's scored the most...
Well, in terms of teams, Birtley Town of the Northern League (Division Two) have the most, with an impressive 36 to their name, with Aylestone Park (United Counties Division One) and Bridgwater United (Western Football League Premier) three goals behind on 33 apiece. With that in mind, it will be of no surprise to see the leading outright goalscoring being part of that Birtley Town strike-force, which you'll see in a moment.
Of all the scorers throughout August in non league, only seven have managed to hit double figures in all competitions, impressive right? Maybe so, but incredibly so far this season Birtley Town's Aidan Rutledge has amassed 21 goals already! That's 19 league goals, plus both goals in their 2-1 FA Vase win over Ilkley Town. Can he keep this up in September?
Behind Aidan is another incredible scorer, and that is London Samurai Rovers forward, Morrison Hashii, who is currently on 18 goals. Whilst he hasn't quite scored the same amount, Morrison's stats are just as impressive. Both have scored four hattricks in the league, but Hashii has gone one better, scoring another in their 6-4 win at Burnham in the FA Vase.
After the top two, there is a bit of a gap, with the next three players all on 11, those being Cole Kiernan (Guisborough Town), Sacha Tong (FC Bristol) and Louis Samuels (Aylestone Park). Two more players complete the double figure club, and they are Lewis Buckley (Vauxhall Motors) and Luke Bryan (Odd Down).

Looking at each individual step in isolation, also makes for interesting reading. Here goes...
